Hovecon Joins Advanced Mobility Collective for Autonomous Transportation Innovation

More than a Decade of Industry, Academia and Government Collaboration for Unmanned Aircraft Systems

WAKE FOREST, N.C. (July, 2020) – Hovecon LLC has joined the Advanced Mobility Collective to help accelerate innovative use of unmanned aerial systems. 

The Advanced Mobility Collective is a community for collaboration to bring new mobility services to life including autonomous air and ground vehicles. The Collective is a nonprofit global community of business, technology, government and research partners. 

Hovecon has more than a decade of experience enabling growth of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), fostering collaboration of industry, academia and government. “The Collective as brought together a diverse group of innovators to transform aviation and transportation,” said Hovecon Vice President Basil Yap,  “We look forward to collaborating with members of The Collective and accelerating growth of autonomous ground and air transportation across the nation and beyond.” 

Hovecon has helped communities establish, grow and safely integrate UAS, urban air mobility (UAM) and unmanned traffic management (UTM) technology and systems. “Hovecon brings deep experience and knowledge in launching UAS programs and collaborating with the FAA, airports and local, state and federal government agencies,” said Todd Spain, executive director of the Advanced Mobility Collective.

The Collective is continuing to build and expand its network of partners as an economic development initiative of The Wireless Research Center. Members of The Collective include WakeMed Health and Hospitals, the first U.S. health system to integrate drone technology for medical sample delivery.
